Welcome

Thank you for taking a moment to learn a bit about me. I’m a 43-year-old single guy living in VA Beach, VA. Both my parents worked with youth, and at an early age, I learned how fortunate I was to have a loving, stable, nurturing, and supportive family. By observing their work, I realized this was not the case for all kids or young adults.

Early in my adult life, I contributed to non-profits here and there, but it wasn’t until I returned to Virginia 12 years ago that I committed to getting involved. I joined the Junior Board for Tidewater Youth Services Foundation. This group supported the agency where my Dad worked before retiring for over 30 years. From an insider’s perspective, I saw firsthand the benefit of their work, and it lit a fire within me.

Many of my friends are passionate about helping their community, so I started learning more. In Hampton Roads, many fantastic non-profit organizations are doing great work but need help from the community. I’ve learned that many people want to help but don’t know how or think they can’t make an impact.

ALL OF US CAN MAKE AN IMPACT.

  • One $20 donation can help tutor a group of youth as they prepare for a math test.

  • One hour of volunteering can show youth the therapeutic benefits of painting, drawing, or even writing poetry.

  • One set of toiletries can help youth feel confident walking into a new classroom and preparing to meet new friends.

Yes, many of us take these things for granted, but for many young adults, they are so critically important and missing from their lives.

My website will promote non-profits near me doing incredible work. WHEN you are ready to help, reach out to me or one of the groups I currently support. I am happy to help you or your company find a non-profit that matches your passions and skills.

Every single one of us can make an impact. Take the first step and say, “Hello.”

Stu Hawkins

I am passionate about supporting our community and helping people find the right non-profit to match their skills and passions. I hope my efforts will inspire others.
